Caring Young

Previously I have spoken about an irritating life insurance ad but this ad I am talking about now is the gentlest one I have ever seen. A poor mother sits and cooks roti for her studying but hungry son and she is using an open fire with a roti filter on it but she has to use her hand to cook the roti. In India this is done by tawa method or tandoori method but many times it is also directly heated in the fire – a risky business. – To make matters worse her second baby keeps on crying and she has to attend to that too. Suddenly the boy gets up and the mother calls out at him distraughtly, thinking that the poor guy got angry. But the boy goes up, takes some metal wire, makes a handy handle to scoop out the roti from the fire. The mother is astonished – so am I. Even though it is an ad for a famous metal cable company the underlying message that youngster can be very caring especially to a mother’s grievances is a lovely message given in the ad.
